Edelen Wille, a company dedicated to reproducing classic vintage design for the home, garden, and baby, was born out of necessity. When Fran Edelen Clegg and Cheryl Wille Clegg, both sisters-in-law, began designing their own children's rooms, they wanted to capture the simplicity of an earlier time so they began framing children's antique book illustrations. The response was overwhelming. They set up shop in their garage and the business was born. The company has grown steadily, and so has the archive of wonderful antique children's illustration and verse the two have collected over the years.
"It's like discovering a hidden world," Fran says. "Most of the books we find are literally falling apart, but between their pages are some of the most beautiful and timeless images you could ever imagine." "Collecting is one of the most enjoyable parts of this whole operation," Cheryl says. "We never tire of it and there's always the promise of finding another illustration from long ago that just takes our breath away. We're so fortunate to have the opportunity to give them new life and to have another generation of children (and parents, too) gazing at them once again."
